The best notebook for this class is the one made by Mead. You need at least a three subject (a five subject one might be better later in the year when it gets filled) wire-bound notebook. Make sure that you get the 11 in x 8 1/2 in size - that way pages can get glued right into your book.
No. However, I highly recommend you doing so. The textbook does not cover everything that you need to know for the test. I can't cover everything that you need to know in class lectures either. So, getting one of the test prep books can help fill in the parts we can't do together.
Also, the test prep books explain things you might not understand from the textbook or class lectures and you can look for clarification if you are too shy to ask me for help.
Finally, all the test books have extensive test taking tips, together with practice M/C tests and FRQs with detailed explanations of the answers.
