And Still Peace Did Not Come is a book that tells a story about the 14 years of war in Liberia. Charles Tayler and President Doe were the two leaders fighting for power and it sparked the bloody civil war that occured from 1989 to 2003. The book mainly focuses on Agnes Umunna, a women who has lived throughout the 14 years of war. As she tells her story, she also tells the many stories of the survivors of Liberia. Many have witnessed family members being raped, slaughtered, tortured and killed for no reason. Also the stories of former child soldiers and war lords themselves are told in the book.

I would recommend this book to people because it was very interesting to read. It shows you what the people of Liberia went through and what they did to overpass it. I actually cried while reading it so yeah, it's a really good book!
