"Jeans Cultural History of an American Icon" by James Sullivan is a guaranteed 5/5. This book has many themes and concepts that apply to human geography. Sullivan writes about how and why jeans spread and popularized. The book also covers why certain types of people buy certain jeans. The book talks about the global outsourcing of jean factories to poor countries. What I really enjoyed however was that Sullivan offers you an in depth look into the history of one of the oldest denim makers in the United States, Levi. He guides you through Levi's humble beginnings. The process that Levi went through to make his business thrive, and the state of Levi jeans in modern times. This book was great to read because Sullivan does not just view jeans from a historical standpoint; he views it also from a economical and cultural standpoint. This was a great read. 5/5.
