Salt is an interesting book about life, salt, and everything. It is about the history of the world with salt as the center of focus. You'll learn (or relearn) the history of many different countries by the way they used salt in politics, daily life, etc.

The book is interesting and has many facts about a cultures food and history. You'll find yourself saying, "wow, really?" The author includes recipes about food, short anecdotes, and sometimes, myths. By the end of the book, you will have a newfound respect for salt. However, the book can be slow and boring in some chapters, and it seems like you are reading a long list of facts that has nothing to do with the history of the world.

Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this book to any APHuG student that has a love for world history, a love for cultures, or a love for food. laugh
