Confessions of An Economic Hitman is an autobiography about John Perkin's career as an economic consultant, or as he calls it, an Economic Hit Man (EHM). His job as an EHM is to use his many resources to get many countries to accept big loans from the World Bank when it is known that they cannot pay off the loans. The objective of this is that when the US needs assitance or resources from the other countries, they must oblige to the US' wishes. When reading this book, I found that there were multiple interesting points of the book but found myself quickly bored. The author talks about a lot of his experiences in other countries during his career and I found those chapters really enjoyable, although the tangents in between made me disinterested and had to be reread a few times to fully understand what he was saying. I would rate this book three stars just because it was a bearable book to read for an assignment, but I personally would not choose to read it again, or on my spare time.
