| Collapse by Jared Diamond focuses on societies of the past, present, and the future of present societies. He investigates reasons why past societies have failed or succeeded and whether or not our current societies are heading the right way to success. He talks about many different societies and reasons why they're heading to failure. The main reason he thinks that societies fail is the people's reaction to environmental changes. People are changing the environmental negatively, but they do not acknowledge how it's affecting their societies. The book is pretty much just straight out facts and Diamond's reasoning on why societies fail or succeed. I gave it two stars because it's a very slow and long read. I wouldn't recommend it for just some fun reading, but some of the facts are interesting and it really ties into what we've learned in Human Geography throughout the year so it's a good read if you'd like to know more about where our society is heading.
