| “Infidel”describes the story of a woman who fought for the rights of Muslim women, the enlightenment of Islam, and security in the West. The book touches upon the themes of culture with language and religion; population with migration; political geography with ethnicity; and geography of industry with development. Although I think the views in this book are very one-sided, I believe that the author invites you to take your own opinion on the situation. I learned a lot about a world I never even questioned before. Taking AP Human Geography definitely helped me understand many things discussed in this book. I like how this book opened my mind to new ideas and new ways of thinking!
The book is long, but easy to understand, and is verymesmerizing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in learning about a different culture. Overall, I would give the book 5 stars out of 5. :))
*** I nearly passed out while reading a section on how Ayaan and her siblings were circumcised, or excised. It was intense.
